About "The Yellowjacket Expert, LLC"

Norman Patterson, Jr. is the Yellowjacket Expert. Norman lives in New Hartford, Connecticut. He learned about beekeeping in his youth and has collected yellowjackets, hornets, and wasps for medical labs for over 15 years. These insects are used for sting allergic patients and medical research. The labs do not need the quantities of stinging insects like they used to, so Norman decided to begin The Yellowjacket Expert, LLC in order to make his expertise available to the public.

Norman has been on the television news (WFSB and WTNH), radio (WTIC and WZBG), and was featured on National Public Radio's organic gardening program "You Bet Your Garden" with Mike McGrath (listen here). He has also appeared in the Register Citizen, Waterbury Republican, Hartford Current, and The New York Times.

Norman is the inventor of The Better Yellowjacket Trap and Wasp Shutter Guards, all-natural products for people throughout the United States. He is the author of the ebook "Do-it-yourself" Guide to All-Natural Stinging Insect Elimination.

Personal Information

The Yellowjacket Expert, LLC is a family owned and operated business. Though Norman does most the work with the stinging insects, his family helps him in many ways.

Besides his knowledge of stinging insects, Norman has a BA in Philosophy and a Master's of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has been a pastor for over 20 years along with serving 4 years as the Chaplain at the Master’s School in West Simsbury, CT. Norman is an ordained elder in the Covenant Presbyterian Church denomination and is the pastor of The Covenant of Grace Church. He also is a contributing writer for Homeschooling Today Magazine.
