Using over the counter pesticides is not safe. These poisons are dangerous to you, your children, and your pets. They can cause a host of health problems including cancer, liver damage, neurotoxicity, and birth defects.
The pesticides applied by professional exterminators are even worse. These chemicals kill not only the target insect, but beneficial insects as well. When pesticides are applied, they are released into the environment contaminating the water, soil, and air. Some exterminators are saying they are using "green" pesticides. Don't believe them. It isn't "green" if you can't eat it or grow food with it.
